50 Years in Business: A Golden Anniversary for Buddy Bear Car Wash Buddy Bear Car Wash is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and we’re excited to announce the opening of our newest location in the Chatham neighborhood!
What began on the West Side of Chicago in 1972 has since expanded to the South Side and surrounding suburbs, becoming a beloved community staple. The grand opening of our 15th location in Chatham on September 26, 2024, was nothing short of spectacular. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, which kicked off at 11 a.m., was followed by a celebration that included free car washes for the first 10,000 customers. Phil DeGeratto, the passionate owner of Buddy Bear Car Wash, carries forward a rich family legacy of entrepreneurship.
His grandfather, affectionately known as “Papa Bear,” owned the popular Big Bear Foods supermarket in the 1960s. His father, Phillip DeGeratto, affectionately known as “Buddy Bear,” owned the well-known Buddy Bear Food Centers on Chicago’s West and South sides. For many, Buddy Bear Car Wash is more than just a place to clean cars. It’s a trusted friend, a source of hope, and a true champion of the community. Pretty good car wash for decent price, as cheap as $3. I paid the Buddy bear special which is $14.99, which is pretty decent for a good wash, wax coat and tire shine applied. Vacuums are strong enough for self cleaning and friendly staff.
My favorite place great car wash reasonable prices they also have the monthly wash where you can go as many times you want in that month may sure you ask for 1 month or else they will auto pay your card monthly ?
Gas and Car Wash
Forgot to get gas. Cashier(can’t remember her name it started with a M) was great. She even had me interested in a monthly Car Wash package. Friendly and Professional and one of the cleanest and well stocked Gas Stations I’ve ever seen.
Absolutely loved this place. The fast pass is a great investment, already took my car a few times in the past few days. Very clean, fast, and professional, highly recommend.
